“Star Cluster”
A new track called “Star Cluster” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
Star clusters are large groups of stars. Two main types of star clusters can be distinguished these are globular clusters and open clusters. Globular clusters are tight groups of ten thousand to millions of old stars which are gravitationally bound together. Open clusters are more loosely clustered groups of stars, generally containing fewer than a few hundred members, and are often very young.

“Diamond Rain”
A new track called “Diamond Rain” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
This track was inspired by the idea suggested by some scientists that on gas giant planets like Neptune the temperature and pressure are so high that Carbon in the atmosphere could be formed into Diamond Rain. Try to imagine this alien eerie world where something we think of as rare and precious just falls as rain!

“Magnetosphere”
A new track called “Magnetosphere” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
The Magnetosphere is the magnetic field which surrounds a planet like Earth and it is this magnetic field which brings about the Aurora Borealis also known as the Northern Lights. It was while listening to the Tonal Essences track called Aurora Borealis that inspired the Magnetosphere track.

“Crystals”
A new track called “Crystals” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
The music for the Crystals music track was inspired in part by listening to Hang Drum YouTube music videos. Players commonly use the terms hang drum, handpan, or pantam to describe the instrument. The instrument is constructed from two half-shells of sheet steel glued together at the rim leaving the inside hollow and creating the shape of a convex lens. A handpan sounds like nothing else you've ever heard before. Some describe it as tranquil or relaxing like a meditation.
The title Crystals came to mind as the music suggested shimmering, reflected or refracted light that would come from a crystal.

“Open Your Mind”
A new track called “Open Your Mind” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
It was the image used on the Open Your Mind album cover that inspired the title and the music. The aim was to try and get a big expansive sound as a way of illustrating expanding and opening your mind.

“Saturnalia”
A new track called “Saturnalia” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
This piece of music sounded upbeat in parts like a celebration or party and after looking up celebration in a thesaurus the word Saturnalia was listed which was the name for the ancient Roman festival of Saturn, a period of general merrymaking.

“Time Loop”

A new track called “Time Loop” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
This piece of music started with a small piece of music a few seconds long that had been created on a phone or tablet using a music app. From this snippet of music, the music Key and tempo were found and a rough idea of the melody was picked out. Using this basic information the track was composed keeping in mind the title of "Time Loop" which had also been suggested.

“Dew Point”.
The track called “Dew Point” by Tonal Essences has been released.

Have you ever wondered how dew forms on your lawn and other garden surfaces etc! Well, there is something called the Dew Point.
The Dew Point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapour, assuming constant air pressure and water content. When cooled below the dew point, airborne water vapour will condense when in contact with a colder surface, and that is how dew forms on a surface.
The Dew Point track attempts to depict dew forming and twinkling in the sunlight and running along the surface on which it formed.

“Pixie”.
The track called “Pixie” by Tonal Essences has been released.
​
The aim of this piece of music was to try and compose a slower track that had a mystical or magical tone to it. To try and achieve the required musical tone several iZotope Iris synthesiser sounds that had that type of sound were used. Then there was the problem of what to call this track? While creating a number of different possible album artworks for the track the Pixie album artwork was chosen along with the Pixie name as it both looked and sounded mystical or magical.
